Philosophical: Another Milestone reached

The time is nigh.... Tomorrow I will be a different person from today, because of one mere event: graduation !!! I finished my last ever assignment around May, since then I have waited for this day to come. What now?! Uni life is now over; real life has started. Where do I start? Where do I go? This is it, I'm a lone wolf, cast out into a world where danger lurks at every turn. I've chosen a career that is competitive and difficult; I'm stuck at a cross-road: will I be the Alpha or the Beta? Q and A for those literary viewers

Hello, So, I have one question: What do you look for in a poet? The question came to my mind as I sat here with my self-made Vanilla Latte Machiato (don't judge me); as I went through some of the groups I follow and I read a few poems submitted by hopeful poets such as myself, I thought to myself I'm reading your poem and I appreciate the hard work and effort that has gone into it, but there's something I don't like about it... This happens to all of us, because we all have our preferences, obviously. It doesn't diminish the poets poem but it definitely doesn't bring in those views either. So I thought to myself, what is it that I look in a poem? A few that came to mind was: 1) A specific theme / story-like. If a poem just comprises of a poets rant about something and calls it free verse, unless it is witty, then you have lost  me. 2) rhyme & rhythm. I love poems that are carefully put together; well thought of, and my favourites tend to
